About Department

The Department of Commerce was established on June, 1989. The Department provides instruction for three years course of Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) Degree by papers a student has to study three compulsory papers and has to select optional subject with four papers from a wide range of optional subject namely (i) Business Economics (ii) Commerce (iii) Export Marketing (iv) Labour Welfare and Practices. The Department admits students from First year of B.Com to Third year B.Com Degree.

The Department is the most active one with tremendous potential for growth. At present, the Department admits students for the M. Com. Degree. The Department offers specialization in Accounting & Costing. In the M. Com. Degree by papers the students have to study two compulsory papers and two optional subjects. From the last 29 years near about 60 students per year completed their B. com degree education and from 2014 – 2015 to 2017 -2018 three batches of M.com had been passed out from the college. From the last year 2017-2018 Career Oriented Course “Export and Import Procedures” was started with collaboration of Symbiosis University, Pune.

College also runs BMS degree course from last three years which is benefited to our students those who are interested in management education. Department of commerce has a tradition of best results at B.Com degree course as well as M.Com degree course. Many of our students have made career in the nearby JNPT port trust and other container yards and warehouses. Some of our students become Professors, Lawyers and many students have started their own business in export and import field.
