About Department:
Veer Wajekar A.S.C. College was established in June 1989 by the management of Rayat Shikshan Sanstha’s. The Sole objective to start this college was to fulfill the aspirations of youth from middle & lower income groups families in this rural area.
Physics subject was started in this college since June 1989. Physics Subject is optional and is thought at F.Y.B.Sc. & S.Y. B.Sc. level. The physics laboratory is fulfilled with required equipments. Mr. U.T. Ghorpade is heading the dept. at present. He has 32 years of teaching experience. He had completed one orientation and three refresher courses. He had completed one minor Research project funded by U.G.C. Also he had participated international, national and state level conference, seminar & workshop.
Miss Ashwini Koli is working as assistant professor in department. She has two years of teaching experiences.Teaching faculty & students of Physics dept. are actively participating in activities like
- Rayat inspire project camp
- Avishkar competition in Mumbai university and in Rayat Shikshan Sanstha’s
- Organizing science project exhibition
- Running Short term course in “Designing and Making of Electronic Kits”
Faculty are using ICT in teaching. They are personally in touch with all the students of the department. Faculties are counseling the students throughout the year. Department is organizing Educational visit at Nehru Science Center, Nehru Planetarium. In feature we are planning to visit research Centers like B.A.R.C., T.I.F.R. create more interest in physics subject.
