Dr R J Solomon

Associate Professor in Psychology

Dr. R J Solomon is an Associate Professor and Head, in Psychology at Veer Wajekar College, Phunde. Dr Solomon has a Masters in Clinical Psychology and Masters in Population Science (MPS). He completed Ph D from International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) Mumbai with UGC Teacher Fellowship and Post-Doctoral Study (PDS) from Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia with Australian Government’s Endeavour Research Fellowship. He has 30 years of teaching and 20 years of research experience. He was an East West Center Fellow at the University of Hawaii, Honalulu, USA. He completed a Major Research Project from UGC, New Delhi and Senior Research Fellowship from ICSSR, New Delhi. He was the Principal Investigator of the “International Youth Development Study” a 4 year longitudinal study in collaboration with Social Development Research Group at the University of Washington, Seattle, US and the Centre for Adolescent Health at the University of Melbourne, Australia. He received Endeavour Executive Fellowship and completed training for Professional Development in Australia. Dr Solomon received several national and international grants and awards in recognition of his research potentials. Prominent awards includes Star Achiever Award from Deakin University, Australia, Award for Outstanding Achievement in Education and Public Health from Bond University, Australia  and three times award for Best Poster Presentation by National Institute for Drug Agency (NIDA), USA. He was appointed as honorary “Australian Educational Ambassador” in India by Australian High Commissioner, New Delhi. Dr. Solomon has over 50 research presentations and publications at national and international conferences and journals. He has undertaken independent consultancy for national and international bodies and produced research reports. He held positions as President, Indian Association for Life Skills Education (IALSE) and as Secretary, Indian School Psychology Association. Currently he is a member of International Task Force at Society for Prevention Research, USA. Dr Solomon is a Ph D guide and has produced one MPhill and two Ph D students. Currently he is member of Board of Studies, Psychology at two Universities.
